Elsie had a great birthday! she helped me make her birthday cake and every 3-5 minutes asked if we could eat it. every time i told her we had to wait for daddy to get home she was so disappointed. i think she was expecting me to eventually give in (she knows me pretty well, I'm not exactly the queen of consistency). Her time finally came , we played some games, opened presents, and she tried on all her new clothes, then we sang and finally got to eat cake.
She even had to try out her new bathing suit. For those that don't know Elsie you might think its odd for her to get a bathing suit for a present when her birthday is in February. The truth is that she lives in them all year round as you can see from our snow pictures below.
our family does not have many traditions but there is one tradition that will never die!
It was the best day of her little 4 year old life until the traditional birthday spanks. She was not thrilled about it and even retaliated. Giving our kids their birthday spanks is the only part of the birthday celebration Jason likes. That and the ice cream.
